Location

Camuzat is located in the beautiful countryside of South West France on the border of the Gers and Lot et Garonne. The farmhouse is situated on a rise with gently rolling, far-reaching views over the river Baise valley. Notwithstanding the peace of the location, Camuzat is surrounded by a number of unspoilt medieval towns and bastide villages with a complete array of services available. Moncrabeau is the nearest village (2km) with bakery, post office, small grocery store, bar and good restaurant.

Camuzat is also just 10 minutes from Nerac to the North and Condom to the South. Nerac is an ancient and bustling market town on the river Baise - with good shops, cobbled streets and architecture dating back to the reign of Henri IV who spent much time here.

Condom is a wonderful old cathedral town on the pilgrim path of St Jacques de Compostella - again with medieval streets, cobbled squares and all facilities.

Mezin is a smaller bastide town with most facilities about 10 minutes to the West.

The area abounds in excellent restaurants - with over 25 Michelin listed establishments within a 30 minute drive - including a three star restaurant at Puymirol for a special occasion. There are other great choices that Michelin has not yet discovered.

The area is the center of the Armagnac region and most of the producing chateaux and domains welcom visitors with free tastings.

There are plenty of sporting activities and diversions available to the visitor - particularly in the summer months - with most villages and towns having fetes, exhibitions, outdoor markets and other shows. Boating and canoeing are available on the river Baise - and riding and golf are nearby.
